Il est d\u00e9plac\u00e9 en 1916 sur son site actuel. L&rsquo;immeuble de plan irr\u00e9gulier, d&rsquo;un \u00e9tage et demi, est coiff\u00e9 d&rsquo;un toit \u00e0 croupes avec avant-toits d\u00e9bordants support\u00e9s par de longues consoles en bois. Il pr\u00e9sente, dans le prolongement du c\u00f4t\u00e9 ouest, une annexe reprenant les caract\u00e9ristiques formelles du b\u00e2timent. La gare se situe en bordure d&rsquo;un parc urbain, \u00e0 une intersection, dans la ville de Macamic.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Histoire<\/strong><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1910, la gare de Hatherly (l&rsquo;actuelle gare de Macamic) est construite \u00e0 cinq kilom\u00e8tres \u00e0 l&rsquo;ouest du lac Macamic. Mal situ\u00e9e, elle se trouve \u00e9loign\u00e9e de la localit\u00e9 naissante de Macamic, les colons pr\u00e9f\u00e9rant s&rsquo;\u00e9tablir au bord du lac, \u00e0 l&#8217;embouchure de la rivi\u00e8re Lo\u00efs et \u00e0 la jonction de la voie ferr\u00e9e. En 1916, cette gare est d\u00e9coup\u00e9e en sections, transport\u00e9e par chemin de fer et r\u00e9install\u00e9e \u00e0 Macamic. La gare de Macamic est alors agrandie par l&rsquo;ajout d&rsquo;un entrep\u00f4t, en annexe sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 ouest.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La gare de Macamic est repr\u00e9sentative d&rsquo;un type de gare con\u00e7u par la compagnie Grand Tronc vers 1909 et 1910. Il se caract\u00e9rise par son am\u00e9nagement int\u00e9rieur fonctionnel, privil\u00e9giant les espaces priv\u00e9s. Au rez-de-chauss\u00e9e, une seule pi\u00e8ce fait fonction de salle d&rsquo;attente, les autres \u00e9tant le bureau du chef de gare, le salon et la cuisine. \u00c0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tage, quatre chambres servent au repos du personnel ferroviaire.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La localit\u00e9 de Macamic, \u00e9rig\u00e9e en paroisse en 1917, prend de l&rsquo;expansion autour de la gare. Elle voit na\u00eetre scieries, commerces et fermes agricoles qui viennent renforcer son r\u00f4le de point de service pour les paroisses et les localit\u00e9s environnantes. La gare constitue un lieu d&rsquo;entreposage et d&rsquo;approvisionnement de diff\u00e9rentes marchandises pour les industries mini\u00e8res, foresti\u00e8res et agricoles. Elle est un lieu de ravitaillement et de transit pour l&rsquo;industrie mini\u00e8re Noranda (Noranda Mines Ltd). De nombreux ouvriers et prospecteurs s&rsquo;arr\u00eatent \u00e0 Macamic, avant de gagner la mine par hydravion, puis par chemin routier apr\u00e8s 1923. Le r\u00e9seau de chemin de fer de la compagnie National Transcontinental Railway (NTR) est incorpor\u00e9 au Canadien National en 1923.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce n&rsquo;est qu&rsquo;en 1928 que le r\u00e9seau ferroviaire de Rouyn-Taschereau dessert directement la localit\u00e9 de Rouyn-Noranda. Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;ouverture d&rsquo;une route entre Val-d&rsquo;Or et Mont-Laurier en 1939, le r\u00e9seau de chemin de fer demeure le seul lien terrestre en Abitibi.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec l&rsquo;agrandissement d&rsquo;un r\u00e9seau routier dans les ann\u00e9es 1950, l&rsquo;importance \u00e9conomique de la gare de Macamic d\u00e9cro\u00eet. D\u00e9laiss\u00e9e dans les ann\u00e9es 1980, elle est menac\u00e9e de disparition.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La gare de Macamic est cit\u00e9e monument historique en 1989. Elle est la plus ancienne gare de l&rsquo;Abitibi. En 1999 et 2000, le b\u00e2timent fait l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;une restauration et est int\u00e9gr\u00e9 \u00e0 un circuit touristique. La Ville pr\u00e9voit maintenant utiliser la gare \u00e0 des fins administratives.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color\"><strong>Source&nbsp;<\/strong>:&nbsp;<a
